Thanks for this release. I didn’t really understand the relationships between the characters, is there a time-skip in this story? And Makis dad died, and Senseis mother and it is implied that his wife died. And the woman appearing in the first 3 pages is it Senseis wife or just Maki with short hair? And wtf is up with the end of the story, her wanting to marry him but going to the ocean where she meets Taichi…
Umm…well, it seems there is a previous book that we didn’t translate. We will stop translating full mangas from now on and focus on one shot stories anyway.
You lot didn’t miss anything, so please finish this one off first, before you cease with full manga’s.
This is just the set-up really. You already uploaded the subsequent chapters in a way, that would be Honey of the Secret Moon.
And I guess it’s scorecard time. Ok, relationships.
The people killed in the carcrash were the father of Maki and Mayu, and the mother of Taichi and the wife to Sensei.
The woman in the first three is Maki, after she’s cut her hair short. This is after she married him, this is touched upon in Honey of the Secret Moon. She patterned herself after Sensei’s lost wife to help bind him to her, in part because she’s afraid that he’ll leave her, because she had a sexual relationship with her father. That and Sensei reminds her of her father.
The one on the beach is Mayu, who patterned herself after how her older sister looked previously. Because she’s in love with Taichi, who she knows had/has a crush on her sister.
I think it’s simply a case of some of the translations being a bit off. Example would be Taichi telling Maki-nee to wait because he wants to buy gifts. While he’s actually together with Mayu.
Maki-nee would also mean something like Sister Maki, which wouldn’t work all that well, considering his father, iirc, adopts Mayu, after he marries Maki. So Mayu-nee would work, considering she’s both his aunt as well as his stepsister. Stepsister because of his dad’s adoption. Aunt because she’s the sister of his stepmom.
The bit Taichi-kun and his young older sister didn’t cry at all also feels rather clunky and doesn’t make much sense. Seeing how at that point Taichi doesn’t have any siblings yet.
The tears of the father’s beloved ones were never shown, also seems off in that context.
I agree with Kouchou, please finish this story. I am really enjoying it and it seems most worthwhile. I appreciate the work and effort your group is doing and am willing to donate for this ones completion.
