However, it has been suggested that we lack a close community of users, which some people find annoying. It is for this reason that we are proposing an addition to the site – a forums.
Before we add a forums, we would like to gauge its popularity with you, the user, through a simple test. If this post receives 100 or more replies, we will add a forums. If it receives less than 100 replies, we will not add a forums.

I’m going to have to vote “No”…I just don’t see a need. The comments allow for most of what needs to be said to be said, lets the admins know if there’s an issue, and contests are easily held through the shoutbox. I just don’t think it’s needed…plus, they get very hard to moderate when popular (spambots, cashlinks, etc. etc. etc.)…

okay, i was in the middle of typing that and i got adware that tried to disguise itself as a program so it can install itself onto my computer.
im a regular, but i only visit this site like once a week. the only reason i could see for having a forum is for setting usernames (instead of leaving people to use whatever name they think of at the time) and so form a community that way.
No because forums are a tedious thing to manage and with a forum there usually comes along the need to make accounts (also tedious) to use it.

As well as the fact that having little to no drama is something that’s hard to strive for on most websites these days that decide to include forums.
Forums eventually bring other trouble, trolls, bots, spam, repeated posts and content (Even illegal content which brings more trouble) and even in some cases membership fees or a certain ’status’ required for different content on the forums assuming it goes that route.

A forum would make things a lot more convienent, plus a place for discussion.
After reading through all the comments here, I have noticed that many of the naysayers are voting no because they believe that having a forums will cause negative events to occur. They are saying that they think Caska will become too wrapped up in the forums and that he would post fewer books and mirror fewer links. However, this is just untrue. Sure, maybe in the first week or so after the forums were opened he might be a little busy sorting out all the errors and things, but after that, he would leave the day to day running of the forums to Vincent and other competent people who he has appointed as forum moderators and administrators. Another reason that was given is that forums are too hard to moderate because of bots, spam, and other nuisances. This is another falsehood. If you have the proper, up-to-date security modifications or add-ons for the forum software, as well as a competent and hardworking group of moderators, none of these problems would even be noticed by the regular forum users because they would be taken care of so quickly. Lastly, to those that are afraid that the will have to pay for premium forum content, rest assured that there won’t be any of that. According to Caska, it is very likely that there won’t even be boards on the forums for sharing books, games, or movies. He has said that he’d rather people use the already created User Uploads section for sharing. The forums would only be a place for us to converse, get to know one another, share opinions, and everything else that one does on a forums.
To conclude, I implore everyone who voted no to rethink their stance after reading this. Many of the reasons you have given are not true and will not come to pass. If you have changed your mind, please vote again

well… will be a great change on this website, i have take place of moderator of some forum and i can say one thing ” GOOD LUCK!!! ” in the begginig you will have the problem of many users that will just enter to see if have something new or just to put a knith on your troat to make you get new releases… by the time pass you will se the forum going up and get the users the realy love this site XD!!

I still say no. Even if we keep the user uploads separate I still feel like I’m missing out on something. But I can assure you sooner or later you’d get people who just blaze in here asking for hentai, despite numerous and very obvious posts, banners, and whatnot saying hentai -> here, User uploads -> here and whatever else may be done. And lastly the oh so strict rules that defy logic at a hentai site. Like no swearing. This I’m not making up. I’m pretty sure looking at pussy is more unlawful than saying FUCK. I can understand not spamming curse words but not having ANY WHATSOEVER is just.. Wrong.. I’m just afraid HFH’s forum is gonna fall prey to these things like every other forum I’ve seen. Really, what’s the point? Do any of you really have anything meaningful to say regarding the site? The only thing I can see for the forums is for people to post reviews or organize their own uploads into topics and such.
What else are you going to use it for? Spamming? Talking about random bull that has absolutely nothing to do with the site? I was an admin of a forum before, and with no real purpose to a forum, all you’re going to receive is a spam board. I don’t see the point in getting a forum “community” if all it does is do random stuff and won’t benefit the overall purpose of the site.

Before committing, it would wise to look at the other hentai forums (general to popular ones) just to get a good feel. During prime-time spam-bots will show up along with $$$ bs. To eliminate all of these blunders will take lots of your free time. I’ve been an admin before and it was too much for me.

There are a few things that would make it a bad idea however. Not enough Moderators to control the spam that plagues every forum is one of them.

hell ya just get rid of all of the dam pop up adds first, there annoying as hell.
a forum is an excellent idea as long as the admins and mods properly police the posters keeping spammers out and leeching to a minimum. consider a hierarchy type structure too.this would allow those that contribute to see something for their efforts and give others something to work towards. if you allow posting of hentai by members keep the best stuff off limits until it is earned by members. (i.e. – v.i.p. status)this gives further motivation to members to contribute.
